just listen to what i can keep silent

this is about the first time in...nearly a year that i've heard this song; foolishly, i'm listening to a playlist mikey made before he went home (lovingly titled 'hayley smells', oh yes). it only has 19 songs on it, rubbish! but it's pretty good (well it would be, it's MY music, ha). anyway, i just had a lecture and i'm all excited about the module, crazy! international trade. today we were talking about globalisation, and in our class are some exchange students from romania, ukraine and poland (the temptation to shout 'warsaw: GAY! poland: GAY! etc' was almost too much to resist). but yes, this interests me greatly, especially the ukrainian (is that right?) bloke who was talking about the period of transformation and the idea that globalisation hasn't affected the former communist countries yet because the revolution required now must be based on ideas and knowledge, rather than brute force, and thus will take longer to have an effect. (i probably haven't explained that very eloquently, but i know what i mean, i'm just tired and very fucking ill ((that's another story, i can hardly breathe/swallow, yay :|)) )

so the assignment for that: 'Global Issues', and i have to choose from one of the following areas:

With reference to an industry or product of your choice, discuss the impact of globalisation on that industry or product.

Discuss the effects which globalisation and increased international trade have had on a developing country or developing area of your choice.

Discuss the impact of economic decisions taken by one country on the potential economy of others.

so my initial thoughts are either to do the first one and talk about the airline industry, or do the last one and do something relating to decisions made by the soviet union (maybe something on the ukrainian famine, but i don't know, i need to do way more reading)..i don't know much about my second choice yet, but it strikes me as being potentially verrrrry interesting, which is good i guess?:p i'll need to decide what i'm doing soon though, maybe neither of these ideas are any good:p so much work this semester, i'm fucking scared:(

biomechanics in an hour and twenty minutes... yay:/

(in other news, 7 months today, how the fuck did that happen?!)

I wonder how my Polish housemate would respond if I shouted "POLAND! GAY!" at her? :D

I wish I could do a module in biomechanics. That's something to do with Lego, right? Oh no, that's Mechano.

On another note, it's handy that Mikey's gone home now you're ill and can't swallow!

(sorry) :P
